It was an exciting day for our twin boys who officially signed up for their very first library cards!!!! What perfect timing too as the new library card designs are now available (while supplies last)!!! These amazing designs were created by some very talented local teen artists in San Joaquin County.
The library is a very special place that our family loves to go to a couple times a week. Whenever we need a little change of environment, our first thought is to head on over to our local library. It's been a really nice option during the rainy days too. We absolutely love the Troke Library here in Stockton. Most of our time is spent hanging out in the Kids Corner (which happens to be way bigger than just a corner). One kid loves to grab a couple of the coloring pages to work on, while another loves to spend their time in the play area where they have an assortment of hands-on activities like building blocks, puzzles, and hand puppets.
Also, right now they have the Winter Reading Program which runs until the end of January. This reading challenge is fun for all ages (kids/teens/adults). During our visit, we choose a couple books to read there and then we choose a few to take home. So far our family has read about 40+ new books. All of which have been written down in the reading log which can be picked up at your nearest SSJCPL library. Once your reading log is filled out, return it to your library branch for a chance to win some awesome prizes!!!

There are some really cool things planned for January including: Family Movie Night, Teen Trivia, A Cooking Demo, Computer Classes, Story Times, Seasonal Crafts and much more!
The Library offers so many educational, fun, and FREE programs and resources for all ages. If you and your family haven't been to your local library in awhile, make it a goal to visit at least one time this month. You might find yourself wanting to go back again and again!!! And if you have little ones, it may be time to get them signed up for their very first library card!
