Babysitting Basics

Local Babysitting Course for Your Teens

Do you enjoy working with children?  A Babysitting Basics workshop will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 10am-2pm (students ages 11-15) at Hutchins Street Square, 125 S. Hutchins St., in Lodi.  This class includes hands-on activities that will teach participants how to handle safety issues, such as responding to medical emergencies, preventing accidents, and understanding basic first aid.

Instructor Mary Shaw will also go over other subjects, such as behavior management, feeding, diapering, toys, bedtime stories and challenges, and communicating with parents.

There will be a certificate upon completion.  Students are asked to bring a sack lunch, snacks and beverage/water.

For Girl Scouts:
This class meets the badge requirements for Cadette Babysitter and/or First Aid badges.

Want to book your own group class?
This 4-5 hour course can be held on weekdays and Saturdays to accommodate the student's busy schedule.  It includes Basic CPR and First Aid.  Instructor Mary Shaw is willing to travel to any facility within a 65 mile radius of S.J. Delta College.  The cost is $62 per student depending on the class size, which includes all class materials and travel expenses.

Aside from babysitting, Instructor Mary Shaw teaches a variety of workshops for adults and teens, such as cooking, organizing, customer service and safety.
