Want to swim with dolphins? No need to book a flight to Hawaii or head to the Bahamas, just hop in your car and take a quick drive to our local theme park, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. One of my bucket list items for our family has always been to swim with dolphins, so when I researched where we could do this and found that we have this opportunity right in our backyard, I had to share it with you all!
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA, offers many unique opportunities to meet animals up close and personal, including their famous dolphins. Wondering what to expect? Let’s dive into the details of swimming with these beautiful creatures:
- Dolphin Discovery Program lasts approximately 2 hours, beginning with a fun and informative classroom session, time to change into your swimsuits and wetsuits, followed by an up-close interaction with the dolphins.
- All participants must be 48” tall and six years or older to participate.
- Participants 11 years of age and under must be accompanied by a paid adult participant or chaperone. ($20 chaperone fee)
- Dolphin Discovery is available most day of the year (even if the park is closed).
- Trainers will never make you do anything with the dolphins if you are uncomfortable.
- You will need to remove all jewelry before entering the pool.
- No phones or cameras allowed. 1 photo per person included in the experience, or purchase all photos for $59.99 (we had over 180 AMAZING photos, so we opted for the photo package)
- Swimsuit required underneath wetsuit that they provide.
