Las Vegas Vacation - Family Style

Top 5 attractions for families to enjoy in Vegas

By Mary Campbell March 25, 2021

Las Vegas is mainly known for being geared for adults, but there are a ton of family friendly activities that can make it a great vacation trip for all ages!

Our trip to Utah called for a flight into Vegas, so it got me researching family fun in the city, and I found endless ideas for fun with the kids!

Here are our top 5 activities that kept us going for 2 days of excitement and fun:

  1. Exotics Racing: Feel the need for some speed?  Drive supercars and go-karts to the limit on the fastest and safest racetracks in Las Vegas!  My husband had the opportunity to drive a Lamborghini (his childhood dream) at speeds near 150mph on their track, with an experienced driver riding with him.  My oldest son and I took a drifting ride-along with the #1 drifting driver in the state!  After the driving experience, we kept the adrenaline pumping with their go-kart experience.  This once in a lifetime experience was definitely a highlight of the trip! (Age and height requirements apply, so check their website for details) All Supercars are available to check out and sit in while waiting for ride experiences.

  1. High Roller Observation Wheel: Soar 550 feet above the Las Vegas Strip on the world’s tallest observation wheel.  With a 360 degree view, we got to see the whole strip and all its beauty in this 30 minute ride.  Purchase tickets in advance to skip the line.  After dark is the best experience to see all the city lights!

  2. Adventuredome at Circus Circus: Experience every twist, turn and drop! The Adventuredome is an indoor theme park featuring rides and attractions for kids of all ages.  The boys went round and round on the rollercoasters, and our family favorite was the newest attraction called the NebulaZ, with 360 degree swings that gave us that stomach dropping excitement.  When you purchase a wristband, it’s good for all the rides in the dome and you can easily take a break and then come back for more later that day!

  3. Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat: Come face-to-face with some of nature’s most exotic and majestic creatures! This outdoor oasis provided a great afternoon exploring and learning about bottlenose dolphins, white tigers, lions and more!  This habitat focus’ on scientific research, education and conservation outreach.  We enjoyed their education program and training session with the dolphins to get up-close with these beautiful creatures.

  4. New York New York Big Apple Coaster and Arcade: The Big Apple Coaster delivered with heart-stopping action and excitement as we rode over 67mph with twists and dives, taking family fun to a whole new level!  (This coaster has a 54” height requirement and I recommend purchasing tickets online to skip the line).  The Big Apple Arcade had us taking our family competition to the next level, with many multiplayer games, classic games like Skee-Ball and Air Hockey, and some of the latest video games.  We lost track of time having some serious fun in the arcade!

Looking for family fun shops?  Be sure to check out the Hershey, M&M and Coca-Cola stores (located near New York, New York).  Each store has fun souvenirs you can customize and take home!

Vegas surprised me with how kid-friendly it is, making it easy to have a family fun vacation.  Make a plan and a careful itinerary with family activities and look for a hotel with a stellar pool for the kids!  There are many hotels, on and off the strip, that have fantastic resort pools where the kids can play and you can relax poolside for a break from the activity.

*Macaroni Kid Lodi was provided complimentary tickets to these attractions in exchange for this review.  As always, opinions and recommendations expressed are 100% my own fantastic experience!
